Im becoming an Insurance agent. Between Am Family & State Farm, who pays better, has better opportunities, etc?

As an agent most of your pay is going to be based on what you sell rather than a base salary. When talking to the companies find out if they offer a base salary and what that might be but more importantly you’ll want to take into consideration the commision of your sales and the total compensation package if you have to pay for all of your benefits or are they paid for by the employer.

Experience will determine your salary. Depending on what state you live in, the difference in salary between the two is probably about the same. I believe SF has a better benefit package…but check it out.

there are a lot of factors. your experience, if they pay commission and how much, how much will they pay hourly, what benefits are they offering and how much will they pay on those? Interview with both and see which you like better and who offers you the better job. competion between 2 agencies is good for you!

The only problem with those two companies is that you can not own your book of business . The book of business is value about 3 times your commission
