Yes, the other guy can claim an injury even though at the scene he said he was fine. Happens all the time. Some times the injury is legit….some times it’s not. But yes, he can file it.

If you insurance company dropped you…..do you have other accidents or tickets? Usually one wreck won’t get you dropped but each company has their own policies.

Just because State Farm dropped you does not mean you drive uninsured. You need to go speak to agents with other companies or with an independent agent and get another policy.

How long will the claim take? Hard to say. It could easily take 1-3 years. There are a lot of factors that come into play.

Just make sure that your adjuster has good phone numbers/address to reach you and/or your parents. That way, if it goes to court….they can get in touch with you.

I don’t see why it would prevent you from joining the military. I’ve handled claims for folks in the military and just joining the military. The main thing is to make sure the adjuster has a way to get in touch with you….or someone you are always in contact with (that’s usually your parents).

Yes, you can join the Air Force. It is a civil matter. It is not a crime that would cause a serious problem on your background check.

However, you may be required to testify in court and/or at a deposition. If you receive notice that you must attend any legal proceedings, you should immediately notify your superiors so that they can arrange for someone else to be on duty and for flying you to the U.S. if you are stationed overseas.

On the other hand, if he is faking the injury and gets arrested for insurance fraud, and is convicted of insurance fraud, then he might not be able to join the Air Force.

He can’t sue your insurance company – it was not a party to the accident. He will sue YOU. The insurance company should defend you if the coverage was in effect at the time of the accident.

You can still join the air force.

Most states, you have two years to file the lawsuit – sometimes longer.

Your insurance company – State Farm – will defend you, and pay out for this suit, up to your policy limit at the time of the accident.

But it could take up to a year before this hits court or settles.
