Farm Bureau Insurance, Kansas. (Military)?
Hi im looking into buying a 2005 GTO after i graduate from basic training and than tech school. Should be around Decemberish, im currently under my parents insurance. My mom called the insurance company today and they said it would be around $2500($210 a month) a year for full coverage which is what i would have to get since i’ll be getting a loan. My biggest question is that the lady said he will have to renew his license and insurance in Missouri (my dream base). My insurance will have to be renewed since i’ll be getting a new drivers license in Missouri. But do you really have to get a new drivers license for each state a military member is stationed in? I’ve always thought it was exempt and that all you had to do was keep your home state were you have your already valid drivers license valid. Any help would be appreciated.
Orrie N, Home insurance covers lots of different things. I’m not sure about Kansas laws and regulations, so I suggest you call a local homeowners insurance agent. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Home-Insurance.html They will be able to assist you.

car insurance is based where your residence is. it is also where your car is "garaged". this is where you will be driving your car.
insurance policies are written based on the state where you live. some companies can only write business in some states, but are not licensed to write business in another state.
if you are in an accident, the laws of the state dictate what may or may not be covered per state law. unfortunately in some states to get the same coverage in one could be much more in another.
unless someone tells you different, the fact that you are in the military makes no difference. you have to change your drivers license and policy where you live.
good luck
